Fantasy Football 2018: Waiver wire targets for Week 2

Tight Ends
George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers
The Jimmy Garoppolo undefeated streak came to an end Sunday, but that doesn’t mean nothing good came out of the San Francisco 49ers opening game. Tight end George Kittle had a lot of traction on his hype train coming into 2018, and he didn’t disappoint. Accumulating five reception for 90 yards, Kittle also found himself leading the team in targets while being on the field for 80 percent of the team’s snaps, according to Graham Barfield of NFL.com.
Translation? Big things appear to be in-store for Kittle. A young quarterback tends to default to his tight end, and with Jimmy G still learning the ropes of the league, expect Kittle to be a big part of his growth.
Jared Cook, Oakland Raiders
We’ll keep the tight end category in the Bay Area, as Cook emerged in Week 1 as the Oakland Raiders’ leading receiver due to poor performances from the rest of Oakland’s pass-catching corps.
Cook reeled in nine catches for 180 yards against a Rams defense that has been heralded by some as the league’s best. We can’t expect Cook to put up Gronk-like numbers every game, but it is encouraging to know Cook is reliable, even if the rest of the Raiders receivers are not.
