3. Three major questions were answered (for at least one game)

There were three major questions coming into this game. The first was the offensive line. Sure, Darnold got hit a few time, but you can’t expect this line to keep him clean for an entire game. For the most part, the pass protection did well and kept him clean, and the running game found some creases for some good runs. The line looked in sync.

The special teams was another bone of contention during the preseason. To say they were terrible during the preseason would be disrespectful to terrible special teams units. However, this special teams unit showed that preseason was a time where they were working out the kinks. They covered well on punts. Lachlan Edwards pinned Detroit deep, and Andre Roberts set up the offense on one punt return and had a return for a touchdown.

There was a Darron Lee sighting in coverage! Lee finally stepped up in his coverage role as an inside linebacker in the Jets scheme. With a pick-six and a second interception — his first two career interceptions — he showed what he can do. If he can continue this, he will prove that he’s worthy to continue playing on this defense.
