18. Mayfield sees action for Browns

Back in April, the Cleveland Browns made it clear that Baker Mayfield would hopefully one day become the franchise quarterback this team has desperately been searching for when looking at all of the failed attempts over the years. But for now, Hue Jackson believes that Tyrod Taylor is going to give the Browns their best chance at winning games in 2018, and when seeing how effective he was in sloppy weather conditions in Week 1, the head coach seems like he made the right call.

One can only imagine the high amount of celebrating that would have taken place in Cleveland Sunday night if the Browns ended up pulling off the upset over the Pittsburgh Steelers, but at least a tie is better than nothing. In Week 2, Cleveland will face an even more difficult challenge when they hit the road to take on a New Orleans Saints team coming off a frustrating loss of their own at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Whether they want to hear it or not, chances are the Saints are going to take their frustrations out on the Browns, and things could get ugly real fast for Jackson’s squad. Mayfield may be the No. 2 quarterback at the moment, but if Cleveland gets blown out, the rookie could see some surprise action in New Orleans.
