Here are five head coaches on the hot seat heading into Week 2 of the 2018 NFL season.

The first week of action for the NFL 2018 season is already in the books, and while it may seem unfair to begin the list of head coaches on the hot seat heading into Week 2 since it’s only been one game, it’s never too early when the frustration is there. If anything, any candidate that finds themselves on a list like this early on means the pressure was already on before the start of the new season, or they simply did that terrible of a job opening weekend.

During the offseason, the Detroit Lions made the decision that seemed way overdue when they decided to part ways with Jim Caldwell after the team failed to take advantage of controlling their own playoff destiny in the NFC by falling short. Without question, the hiring of Matt Patricia seemed like a great move when looking at his history of getting the best from his player on defensive over the years as defensive coordinator for the New England Patriots, but his debut on Monday Night Football could be best described as a train wreck.

Detroit seemed to be on their way to an easy victory when they picked off Sam Darnold during the first play of the game, and took it to the house, but allowing the New York Jets to take control of the game while going on to lose 48-17 shows why Patricia is already feeling the heat. Along with the the new Lions coach, here are a few other candidates that arguably deserve to be on this list heading into Week 2 that will be looking to recover over the weekend with their team putting together a much better outing.
