Germain Ifedi

Six. That’s the total number of times Wilson was sacked during Week 1. Three. That’s the number of sacks Ifedi gave up to Von Miller. He also gave up four quarterback hits. Basically, Miller absolutely obliterated Ifedi. It was almost like the third-year right tackle wasn’t even there.

Wilson has rare athleticism that allows him to escape many tricky situations, but even he can’t dodge and juke forever. His offensive line, especially Ifedi, need to buy him more time. As it is Wilson is a great quarterback, just imagine how much better he could be if he didn’t have to run for his life most of the time.

Ifedi will be tasked with blocking Leonard Floyd and Khalil Mack in Week 2. The task will be nearly as difficult as it was in the first week, but Ifedi will be looking to respond differently and have a bounce back performance.

I chose to highlight a lot of offensive players this week, because the defense can’t be blamed for the loss to Denver. They came up with three interceptions, which should’ve given the offense enough possessions to win the game. That being said, Flowers and the other Seahawks cornerbacks still worry me, especially since they gave up so much yardage to Emmanuel Sanders. Luckily for them Chicago doesn’t have as many offensive weapons.
