New York Jets: 3 Bold predictions for Week 2 vs. Dolphins
2. Darron Lee continues to prove he’s not a bust
It took the first game of his third NFL season, but Darron Lee finally showed us why the Jets took him with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. His two interception day — including one returned for a touchdown — were his first two career interceptions.
As Todd Bowles told Howie Kussoy of the New York Post, it just took Lee some time to get acclimated to a position he was unfamiliar with.
"“The game slowed down for him,” Bowles said. “I don’t think he’s doing anything he hasn’t done. He has more knowledge of the game, and the film study is easier, and he’s working his tail off to be the best player he can be, and we’re happy with it.”"
In this game, however, he’s going to make an impact in more ways than one. He will be a force in the entire pass defense, and may add another interception for good measure as well. Not only will he make some solid plays as a pass defender, he will also get a sack.
Lee is going to be a force to be reckoned with coming off that spectacular game in Detroit. He will feed off the Jets home crowd and play like we’ve never seen him play in his career.
