New York Jets: 3 Bold predictions for Week 2 vs. Dolphins
1. A big day for the rookie
Back in the day (yes I know it wasn’t that long ago), Matt Harvey was a dominant pitcher for the New York Mets. Even though it doesn’t exactly correlate to football, whenever he started during the peak times, his starts were known as “Harvey Day.” Well, if Sam Darnold becomes what we expect, Sundays during football season can be known as “Darnold Day” (which has more of a ring to it, anyway).
Well, the first Darnold Day at MetLife will be Sunday, September 12, 2018. There was big news concerning this day, Jermaine Kearse was a full participant at practice and may be a go for this game. That means Darnold will have his full complement of weapons, and that will be dangerous for the Dolphins.
Robby Anderson can take the top off the defense at any time. Quincy Enunwa and Jermaine Kearse provide great targets in the middle of the field for both quality hands and yards after the catch, and Terrelle Pryor gives them a size advantage on the outside.
All of the advantages for Darnold will lead to his first 300-yard passing day and his second consecutive multiple touchdown game. He will spread the ball around, and the Dolphins won’t know what hit them.
