Green Bay Packers: 5 Players to watch vs. Vikings in Week 2
Aside from Aaron Rodgers and his health, which Green Bay Packers players should be in the spotlight for their Week 2 matchup against the Vikings.
Words can’t describe what we saw from the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night in Week 1. From Aaron Rodgers’ injury to the 20-point comeback against the Chicago Bears, you couldn’t have written a better game. One thing that is being forgotten is the play of the defense. Yes, they allowed 17 points in the first half, but in the second half, they were able to shut down the same Bears offense that destroyed them earlier in the game.
There were multiple drives in the second half for Chicago that could have easily ended the game, but the Packers defense held their own and allowed Rodgers to lead a miraculous comeback.
The Vikings are a different team though. Their offense is much more potent than the Bears. Led by the new quarterback Kirk Cousins and a returning Dalvin Cook, this week will be a bigger test for the Packers defense. The Vikings defense is a lot better than the Bears’, even with Kahlil Mack. All of Minnesota’s 11 starters are Pro-Bowl caliber players.
Rodgers’ health is something to watch, especially against this caliber of a defense. There are 10 other offensive and 11 other defensive players on the field though. Everyone needs to step up and play mistake-free football against the Vikings. Despite it being Week 2, this game will go a long way in the division. If the Packers can’t get the win in front of their home crowd, it will be a tougher task in winning the division.
Here are five players to watch during the Packers and Vikings game on Sunday.
