1. Buffalo Bills: Ed Oliver, Houston, DT

There’s going to be some debate about which player goes No. 1 this offseason and it could very well come down to Ed Oliver out of Houston and Nick Bosa from Ohio State. The only way one of these two don’t go first is if a quarterback separates himself from the pack and a team desperate for a signal-caller makes a move to the No. 1 spot.

So far, that hasn’t happened and the team with that first spot in our mock isn’t quarterback needy. Well, maybe. It has yet to be seen if Josh Allen is the real deal, but fans have to be excited that they get to finally find out. Allen will be starting after head coach Sean McDermott finally saw what everyone else saw last year — Nathan Peterman is not an NFL starter.

Even if Allen doesn’t look great this season, no team will give up on the No. 7 pick after a year so Buffalo takes the best talent in the draft and that’s Ed Oliver. An absolute game wrecker on defense, Oliver is constantly in the offensive backfield wreaking havoc and could wind up being in the running for the Heisman this season.

Buffalo is still trying to figure things out on offense with Allen and if he works out, they have their centerpiece on that side of the ball. Oliver could be that for the defense.
