4. Cleveland Browns: Clelin Ferrell, Clemson, EDGE

In the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns added Texas A&M star pass rusher Myles Garrett. In Week 1 of the 2018 season, he showed how much of a force he can become. However, in that same game, his fellow starting defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah showed that injuries could be a problem for him.

The Browns had a chance to add Bradley Chubb with the No. 4 pick to play end on their defensive line, but citing Ogbah, they felt fine there and took Denzel Ward. They don’t regret the move because Ward was great in his debut, but Ogbah ended the game with an ankle injury and may not be back for a while.

It’s bad news, especially considering Ogbah played just 10 games last season before a broken foot ended his campaign. With the injuries piling up — and considering Garrett had his share as a rookie — Cleveland elects not to pass on the edge rusher this time and selects Clelin Ferrell out of Clemson.

Ferrell offers the Browns the option of using four different edge rushers who can be a handful. He joins not only Garrett and Ogbah, but also 2018 fifth-round pick Genard Avery who flashed in Week 1. There’s no such thing as too many pass rushers in today’s NFL.
