Even in a 20-12 loss by the New York Jets there are bright spots and players that stood out. It was disappointing, but let’s look at the silver lining.

Coming off the huge win in Detroit, some were wondering if this would be the classic “trap game” for the New York Jets. Well, the game did end in defeat for the Jets, but it was hardly what can be defined as looking past the Dolphins. It was merely shooting themselves in the foot that cost them this one.

This game was about two things. First, the Jets made mistakes and had sloppy play, and when they did the Dolphins capitalized on said mistakes. Second, the Jets didn’t capitalize when the Dolphins made mistakes.

A loss is a loss. That doesn’t mean we can’t look at the bright side of things and glean some positives moving forward. So let’s examine the positives as they move on to Cleveland for a quick turn around on Thursday night.

3. The pass rush

The pass rush was ok on Monday night is Detroit. It was the best we’ve seen in a long time against the Dolphins though. They had Ryan Tannehill out of the pocket and took him down for four sacks. Four players — Jamal Adams, Brandon Copeland, Henry Anderson, and Jordan Jenkins — each recorded a sack, and that should be something to build on.
