1. Sam Darnold

Some would say that Darnold doesn’t belong on this list, because he’s part of the reason the Jets were in the mess they were in. That’s true. He had two interceptions, but he still belongs on this list. Darnold is young, and he will make a few mistakes like he did in this game. While he’s no Superman, he’s more like Bruce Wayne in the current FOX drama Gotham.

In Gotham, Wayne is a very precocious young man. There’s one problem, he always gets himself into trouble. While he sometimes finds his way out of the trouble, he also needs help at times from characters like James Gordon and Alfred. That’s much like what Darnold went through in the game against Miami.

Darnold had two terrible interceptions, and one of them might not have been completely his fault. However, he kept them in the game with his cool demeanor and calm persona. He had them driving when Anderson fumbled, and despite being hammered constantly by the Dolphins defensive line, he remained unflappable.

Darnold may have been part of the reason that they Jets were in the situation they were in to begin with, but he didn’t allow that to affect his psyche. It’s a good sign moving forward and something to look at as a huge positive.
