New York Jets: 3 Big takeaways from loss vs. Dolphins in Week 2
By Randy Gurzi
The New York Jets dropped their Week 2 game to the Miami Dolphins and fell to 1-1 on the season. Here are the three big takeaways from the loss.
Week 1 went about as well as the New York Jets could have planned it to go. After rookie quarterback, Sam Darnold threw a pick-six that is.
Following the bad pass against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, Darnold got to work. He was accurate and smart with the ball from then on and led the Jets to a win 48-17. They hosted the Miami Dolphins in Week 2, hoping to continue their great play.
Unfortunately, they weren’t able to rebound from a rough start and finished with a 20-12 loss to a division rival. There was plenty to like in the game despite them losing. Here we will look at three areas where they should be able to take something positive away.
3. They don’t have any quit in them
The Jets are a young team and they’re still building something. With that being the case, things like effort and mental toughness are paramount. In this one, they showed that mental toughness as they fought all the way to the end.
Yes, they lost and that stings. But even with them trailing by three scores, the Jets kept chipping away at the lead. They had chances and missed opportunities which need to be cleaned up.
However, they have the fight in them and that means something.
