Winner: Tennessee Titans

Obviously the Tennessee Titans were able to pick up a win and, yes, that ostensibly makes them a winner. However, when it comes to using a wider scope to look at the matter, the Titans were winners in a grander sense as well.

In a divisional matchup against the Houston Texans, Tennessee didn’t have their starting quarterback on the field, were playing their first game without Delanie Walker and were a little banged up all around. Despite all of this, however, they were able to go out and pick up a big win. Doing that with the deck stacked against them is massively important and could have late-season playoff implications.

Loser: New Overtime Rules

We are through two Sundays in the 2018 regular season and the new 10-minute overtimes are already yielding questionable results. Last week, it was the Steelers and Browns going out and ending things in a tie during a big divisional matchup. This week, that shifted to the NFC North instead of the AFC with the Packers and Vikings tying. Maybe it’s not the rules’ fault, but I’m already tired of these ties.

Loser: Steelers Defense

After tying with the Browns last week, Pittsburgh Steelers fans had to be hoping that their team would look a bit more in-sync than they did to open the season. On the offensive side of the ball, that was indeed the case as Ben Roethlisberger put on a great performance in this one to keep Pittsburgh in the mix. However, the defense was absolutely abysmal, getting torched through the air time and again.

If they don’t shore things up on that side of the ball, their hold on the AFC North will lessen up substantially.
