Both the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans will try to come back from tough losses last week as they match up on Sunday in Week 2.

There were few teams that had a tougher opening week to the 2018 NFL season than the Tennessee Titans. They lost tight end Delanie Walker for the season, had their game delayed multiple times due to weather, and were on the bad end of several calls. Now they hope things get normalized as they take on the AFC South rival Houston Texans.

With all of that happening to the Titans in Week 1, new head coach Mike Vrabel hopes that things will be better this week. Of course, that would be helped if Marcus Mariota was at 100 percent, which he may not be while dealing with an arm injury. Even still, the Tennessee defense will need to come up big, which will be aided by the debut of edge rusher Harold Landry.

The defense needs to come to play because Deshaun Watson is coming to town. The second-year Texans quarterback was a beast before tearing his ACL last year. Though that wasn’t wholly the case last week in a loss to New England, he can still come up big. His biggest hindrance could be the offensive line in front of him though. If they don’t give him time, it’s going to be bad news.

With the injuries that the Titans are currently dealing with, it’s not all that surprising that the Texans are favored in this game. However, being four-point favorites on the road is certainly pretty rich.

Prediction

They always say that you can’t overreact to Week 1, and I truly believe that to be the case with Tennessee. What can you really glean from a game that was delayed numerous times, that featured multiple injuries and was the first game of the year? It’s hard to say a lot. Thus, I’m sticking to my guns that the Titans are better than the Texans and get the win on the road.

Final Score: Houston 17, Tennessee 21
