The Kansas City Chiefs continue to rise in the 2018 NFL Power Rankings heading into Week 3.
Between football fans witnessing a tie for the second week in a row to teams like the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots receiving their first loss, there is plenty to discuss once again in regards to the 2018 NFL Power Rankings for Week 3.
However, when it comes to one of the hottest topics of discussion, the argument can be made that nothing is as exciting at the moment than the risky gamble by the Kansas City Chiefs from the offseason to pave the way for Patrick Mahomes II taking over the starting role.
When looking at all of the success surrounding Alex Smith over the years, it was quite the surprise to see the Chiefs move on from the veteran quarterback in the offseason to begin the Mahomes era earlier than expected. After two games, this decision that was originally viewed as questionable is looking like the best choice Kansas City ever could have made when looking at the quick impact Mahomes has made on offense.
What’s even more terrifying to think about is Mahomes has already tossed 10 touchdown passes over his first two meaningful starts with the Chiefs, and he hasn’t even played a game at home yet for the 2018 season. As for what this stellar play by Mahomes and Kansas City in general means for this week’s NFL Power Rankings, well let’s just say Andy Reid’s team is making a strong case for being the top team to beat in the AFC.
However, before jumping that far ahead on the list with the Chiefs, let’s see where some of the other teams stand at the moment following another exciting weekend of action.
