25. New York Jets (31 – Before MNF)

All eyes were on the New York Jets less than a week after pulling off a shocking upset on the road against the Lions, but unfortunately Sunday’s game when taking on a familiar face in the Miami Dolphins ended up being the complete opposite results. Instead of the defense shining along with Sam Darnold adjusting quicker than expected on offense, the Jets received a major wakeup call when it comes to being a potential sneaky contender in the AFC.

Nobody should be fooled by the 20-12 final score, as Miami was well in control of this game throughout the entire contest while taking advantage of New York’s struggles on offense. But on a positive note, not only did the defense prevent the Dolphins from scoring a single point in the second half, but also this early experience by Darnold should pay off in a big way for the long run.

Playing the former USC quarterback right away was the best decision the Jets could have made to provide Darnold with some much-needed experience as a rookie. No matter what the outcome of this season is for New York, the future seems bright for Darnold at quarterback in New York for the first time in what seems like forever.
