It was a good effort by the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football as they defeated the New York Giants as some players stood out more than others.
The Dallas Cowboys defense controlled their Week 2 game against the New York Giants, as the offense did enough to help the team win by a 20-13 score.
On the stat sheet, the Cowboys didn’t jump off the page with Dak Prescott throwing for 160 yards as he was 16-of-25 for the night with one touchdown and no interceptions. For those passing yards, 64 of them came on a touchdown pass to Tavon Austin on the opening drive of the game. Prescott also rushed for 45 yards on seven carries.
Ezekiel Elliott rushed the ball 17 times for 78 yards and one touchdown with a best run of 19 yards. Besides having the aforementioned 64-yard touchdown reception, Austin also had one rush of 15 yards.
As a team, the Cowboys totaled 298 yards on offense, with 138 rushing yards. The game wasn’t pretty for the offense, but the Cowboys did what they needed to do and gained their first win of the season. It is good to be excited for a win against the Giants as they are a big NFC East rival of the Cowboys, but it is apparent there is a lot of work to do as the offense just doesn’t seem to be on the same page for a complete game.
Even with that, there were still players who stood out for the Cowboys in Week 2, and here are three of those players who shined the most as the Cowboys defeated the Giants.
