Running Backs

Nyheim Hines at Philadelphia – Andrew Luck’s safety valve, rookie running back Nyheim Hines, has essentially asserted himself as the current lead back in the Indianapolis Colts backfield, notching a score last week and proving in Week 1 his capabilities to play a dual threat running back.

Hines is owned in a mere 10 percent of leagues, but is worthy of a stash on your bench until he starts putting up consistent numbers. Marlon Mack lurking in the backfield is concerning, but the Colts have made it clear Hines has a role in the offense now and, if he continues to perform well enough, moving forward.

Bilal Powell at Cleveland – Despite losing in the carries battle to Isaiah Crowell thus far in the New York Jets offense, Bilal Powell has seen the majority of workload in the passing game, a great sight for fantasy football owners — especially in PPR leagues.

Powell, with a young rookie quarterback, has a favorable matchup against a Browns team on Thursday Night Football that has allowed solid performances to running backs the last two weeks. Powell owns the timeshare backfield in New York, fantasy wise. If you need a solid FLEX play, again especially in a PPR league, Powell could be a nice add for your roster.
