Tight Ends

Jesse James at Tampa Bay – Even with fellow tight end Vance McDonald healthy, Jesse James benefited from a Pittsburgh Steelers team that ditched the run game early on against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 to play catch-up to an early deficit. James notched five receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown in a shootout with the Chiefs, and should find himself in similar territory when the Steelers head to Tampa Bay to take on a red-hot Buccaneers offense.

Don’t expect another career performance, but James has landed on the radar as a viable fantasy tight end, at least for the very near future. If you’re looking to stream someone at the tight end position right now, James is as good an option as you’ll find.

O.J. Howard vs. Pittsburgh- O.J. Howard was a sleeper name coming into this year, but is still only owned in roughly 20 percent of leagues on ESPN. In the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense, Howard was expected to split time with Cameron Brate, yet Brate has yet to see a target in the passing game this season.

Case in point: Howard looks to be the guy. Now, Howard — and the high-octane Bucs offense with Fitzpatrick at the helm —  finds himself playing against a Steelers defense that gave up the best performance for a tight end in Week 2. Howard should be plugged in right away as a guy who will get work and has big-play potential with every touch.
