NFL Week 3, 2018: 5 Coaches on the hot seat
By Dan Parzych
Here are five head coaches on the hot seat heading into NFL Week 3 of the 2018 season.
Even though it’s only NFL Week 3, and the thought of any head coach being on the hot seat this early sounds ridiculous since there’s plenty of time to turn things around, but also as teams tend to find out each season, every win is important, especially at the beginning. So when it comes to certain teams still in search of their first win heading into the third week of the regular season, it’s easy to make a case over being on the hot seat since they’re facing a high amount of pressure to come through in the win department.
After dealing with numerous key injuries on both sides of the football throughout the 2017 season, the Houston Texans were hoping to get back on the winning track in September since players like Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt were finally healthy again. Instead, the Texans happen to be one of those teams entering Week 3 still in search of their first win, and while it may not seem like that big of a deal, it’s certainly not going to help Bill O’Brien’s case.
The fact that Houston couldn’t even get by a Tennessee Titans team playing without Marcus Mariota just added to the list of frustrations surrounding the Texans, and if they fall to the New York Giants to drop to 0-3, they may have no other choice than to hit the panic button. Along with O’Brien, here are a few other candidates to consider when it comes to the hot seat for Week 3 in the NFL.
