After getting their first victory of the season in Week 2, the Chicago Bears travel to Arizona to take on a struggling Cardinals team. Here are five bold predictions for the game.

The Chicago Bears got their first victory of the season in Week 2. Yes, for most teams that might not be much, but for the Bears this was big. It’s the first time since 2014 they got their first victory within the first two weeks of the season. Being able to get off without digging a deep hole for yourself is critical if you want to have a good season.

The Bears are far from being a finished product. The offense, while getting off to strong starts to begin games, struggles from there on out. It happened in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers and did so again in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. The difference against the Seahawks was one long drive in the third quarter and the defense finishing the game.

This is a new offense that quarterback Mitch Trubisky is learning. Yes, with his struggles many people compare him to Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes, two quarterbacks in his draft class experiencing successes. Keep in mind, however, that Watson had better coaching in college and Mahomes had a year to sit and learn the system Nagy is teaching Trubisky now. Trubisky will come along and be just fine.

The Bears face the Arizona Cardinals this week. They are 0-2 and have troubles on both offense and defense. Offensively, they look a bit like the Bears did last season — wide receivers who can’t get separation and can’t get the deep ball. Their Hall of Fame receiver, Larry Fitzgerald, is dealing with injuries. He’ll probably play against the Bears, but may be limited.

The Cardinals defense also has some trouble. Their corners are struggling, and they cannot get to the quarterback. They rank 25th in points allowed and 30th in yards given up. This could be a good prescription for what ails the Bears offense.
