Trey Burton abuses the Cardinals defense

In Nagy’s offense, the tight end is important. Travis Kelce was a big part of the Kansas City offense when Nagy was there. In Chicago, the guy who plays the Kelce role is Trey Burton. Burton was buried in the Philadelphia Eagles’ tight end unit. He did become a Philly legend in the Super Bowl with his Philly Special pass to Nick Foles.

The Bears signed Burton expecting him to be the top tight end in their offense. So far this season, however, he’s made a minimal impact. He has five catches for 35 yards and a touchdown, a far cry from what many expected, even right out of the gate.

Burton had trouble connecting with Trubisky in Week 1. He caught just one of the six passes targeted to him. He did catch all four passes targeted to him in Week 2, though. Also, he caught the shovel pass for a touchdown on the opening drive in that game.

I expect Burton to be more involved in this game. As I mentioned, the Cardinals’ linebackers are struggling with injuries. Burton’s size should be an advantage for him. Burton is donating money for catches and touchdowns he makes this season. Expect him to dish out a great deal of money in Week 3.

Prediction: 6 catches, 93 yards, 1 touchdown
