NFL Week 3, 2018: 5 Teams on upset alert
By Dan Parzych
5. Minnesota Vikings
All the Vikings want this season is another chance to earn a trip to the Super Bowl after falling just shy last winter before losing to the Eagles in the NFC Championship. Not only did Minnesota upgrade at the quarterback position after winning the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes in free agency, but also when looking at the weapons on offense such as Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, there’s a good chance it could happen.
Before jumping that far ahead, the focus for the Vikings will be on Sunday’s matchup with the Buffalo Bills, who look like a team that is going to barely win any games this season, if any at all. Unlike last year in which they earned a Wild Card spot in the AFC, the Bills have looked horrendous through their first two games, especially when it comes to putting up points on offense.
There’s a reason why Minnesota is listed as such a heavy favorite in this one, but that doesn’t mean Buffalo isn’t going to put up a fight. Too many times in the NFL, strong contender overlook a game like this, and end up embarrassing themselves, so the Vikings better be careful to avoid what would be the biggest upset of the weekend, without question.
