The Seattle Seahawks have their home-opener coming up against the Dallas Cowboys. The Seahawks can not afford another loss.

The Seattle Seahawks are in danger of starting 0-3 in 2018 and absolutely can not let that happen if they want to have any shot at making the postseason. The offense was absolutely nonexistent for the first half of the game during Week 2 and will need to show up early on Sunday.

Because of this a lot of the players I’m going to highlight are from the underperforming offensive. The defense did a good job on Monday against the Chicago Bears, but the offense failed to capitalize.

The Seahawks will have to be careful against an improved Dallas Cowboys defense. The Cowboys offense has yet to awaken either, but they will sooner or later. The Seahawks just have to hope that it won’t happen this week. At least the Seahawks will be at home in front of the 12th Man in Seattle. The matchup against the Cowboys is their home-opener.

These are the players that must step up for Seattle to avoid a winless start in Week 3.

Germain Ifedi

The embattled right tackle can not get destroyed by Demarcus Lawrence the same way he was pushed around by Von Miller and Khalil Mack. Lawrence finished tied for second in the league in sacks last season, proving he can be considered an elite pass rusher.

It’ll be interesting to see if Ifedi’s play can stabilize this year. If it’s going to happen, Week 3 will be a good time for it. Russell Wilson has been in tough spots in the past, but he has been under especially heavy pressure this year. In fact, this may be the most hurried he’s been on dropbacks his entire career.

The matchup with Lawrence is really why I decided to highlight Ifedi though. In the last two weeks against two elite pass rushers, Ifedi allowed four sacks. Now he’s facing another great pass rusher. At this point, Wilson has to be scared to death to drop back with the ball and it’s up to Ifedi to prove he can protect his quarterback.
