2. Quincy Enunwa

The Jets went to Enunwa early and often in this game. Enunwa is becoming a dangerous weapon for this team, but they may have just went to the well way too often in this game.

Enunwa and Darnold have a connection. They’re on the same wave length, and that’s a good thing. However, Darnold needs to find another receiver to trust if they want to be successful. Enunwa did rack up yards after the catch in this game, yet again. That said, it’s not enough for the Jets to be successful. Defenses are going to dare Darnold to keep dumping it off to Enunwa, because they know they can’t rely on yards after catch all the time.

Enunwa’s a great target for a young quarterback like Darnold. He’s the safety blanket that would usually be reserved for the tight end position, but clearly the Jets tight ends aren’t good enough to be reliable, otherwise Darnold would get them the ball more often.

There might be too much focus on Enunwa in the passing game. So, it’s time for someone else to step up. If no one else does, it’s going to be a long season for everyone, including the young rookie quarterback.
