2. Lack of discipline was key to loss, players need to be accountable

Accountability is key to success. When you do something stupid, you need to own up to it — like Terrelle Pryor did after the game against the Miami Dolphins.

Well, Isaiah Crowell and Trumaine Johnson were just two more culprits of Jets stupidity in this game. Crowell’s stupidity didn’t cost them on the scoreboard, but Johnson’s did, and his was even more egregious because it gave the Browns a first down.

There’s one problem with pointing it all to the head coach. The two most prominent penalties in the game were by veteran players who should know better than to do senseless things like what they did.

The players need to police themselves on the field. That’s why there are captains for each game. One of the other veterans should’ve stopped Crowell from doing what he did. Sure, Crowell could’ve been disciplined during the game by removing him, but you don’t want to hurt the team by taking him out.

So, it’s a catch-22. In addition to that, Johnson showing up Landry was right in front of the referee, which is just as dumb. The Jets may lack discipline, but it’s on teammates to step up and say something to everyone, not just the head coach.
