Chargers vs. Rams: Battle for Los Angeles should be wild
It’s the battle of LA as the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams meet in Week 3, but who will walk away a winner?
The last time the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers met, it was in the preseason and who cares about those games? With both teams located in the same city, it ignites a new rivalry. Two teams in the same city is interesting and not something we see very often. Right now, one is clearly overshadowing the other.
The 2018 Los Angeles Rams are the team to beat, literally. They’re undefeated and look to add to their winning record. Their defense is star-studded and rock solid, featuring big names like Aaron Donald, Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters. The offense is similar and capping it off is Sean McVay. Even though McVay is only a second-year coach, he’s poised for a lot of success and it’s ringing true so far.
Looking at the Los Angeles Chargers, it’s a bit of a different story. They’re now 1-1, hoping for their second win against the Rams. With Phillip Rivers getting older, the Chargers’ window is closing fast and they need to act quick. Defensively, the Chargers are close to the level of the Rams defense and both have a second-year coach.
Regardless of their similarities, the NFC representatives are the stronger team. They have confidence, poise and the talent to back it up. As for the Chargers, they have a few strong pieces but nothing to carry the entire team. This game will no doubt bring a new rivalry to football and hopefully, make for a solid battle between a team looking to stay undefeated and one looking for their second win.

Prediction
Regardless of how similar these two teams are, the Los Angeles Rams are the stronger team. Last week, they managed to shut out the Cardinals and they’re going to break the same heat against the Chargers.
With how stacked McVay’s offense and defense are, the Chargers will be lucky to put up 17 points, if that. The Rams have figured out a formula to win and they’re sticking to it until someone can knock them off. The Chargers have already stumbled so a win for the Rams is all but guaranteed.
Final Score: Los Angeles Rams 34, Los Angeles Chargers 17
