Bears vs. Cardinals: Will Chicago’s upward trend continue?
The Chicago Bears have been impressive through two weeks, but will their efforts continue as they go on the road to face the Arizona Cardinals.
Though their record sits at just 1-1 on the season to this point, the Chicago Bears have appeared to be a breakout team in 2018. That was solidified last week with a strong primetime win over the Seahawks. Staying with the NFC West, however, Matt Nagy’s team will now go on the road in Week 3 for a date with the Arizona Cardinals.
To this point, the Cardinals season has been one to forget. No matter which side of the ball you want to look at, it’s been pretty abysmal. That may be more severely the case on offense as Sam Bradford has done nothing close to impressive to this point. What’s more, they have failed to use David Johnson with any effectiveness. When you then consider that Patrick Peterson and the defense have been lit up, it’s been bad news for Arizona.
The catalyst for the Bears through two games has been their defense, now featuring Khalil Mack. After trading for the superstar pass rusher, he’s been as good as they could’ve hoped for. While Mitch Trubisky and the offense have been a bit inconsistent, they did enough against the Seahawks to get the win last week. Now they look to keep proving themselves on the road.
Here’s everything you need to know about this NFC matchup on Sunday.

With how poorly the Cardinals have performed through their first two games of the season, it’s not surprising that Arizona come into this game as home underdogs. With that said, a young Chicago Bears team on the road does make you question whether they should be such heavy favorites on the road.

Prediction
As apprehensive as I am about this Bears team going to the West Coast and having to prove themselves, they are just the better team in this matchup by a wide margin. Their defense should be able to control the game from start to finish and come out on top of the Cardinals after 60 minutes of play.
Final Score: Chicago 30, Arizona 13
