2018 NFL Power Rankings: Packers, Patriots fall as Rams, Chiefs show dominance

16. Chicago Bears (16)
Somehow, the Chicago Bears are 2-1. In fact, they’re a couple plays from being 3-0. If we could go back in time to their season opener when they had the three-point lead against the Green Bay Packers and decided on fourth-and-short to kick a field goal, we could have probably fixed that.
They went for the six-point lead, which we all know wasn’t enough against the Packers and Aaron Rodgers. Had they gone for the jugular and scored a first-down, they may have won that game and would be sitting with an unblemished record.
What’s most impressive about their 2-1 mark right now though is the fact that they haven’t been great on offense. Mitch Trubisky has his moments under center, but so far, the quarterback looks like he shouldn’t have been No. 2 overall last season — and definitely shouldn’t have gone before Patrick Mahomes.
Their defense keeps them strong though, and Khalil Mack added two more sacks in this close win. They also had three interceptions and a fumble recovery in their 16-14 win. They still aren’t a top team though because their two wins have come against teams with a combined 1-5 record, but they did play Green Bay close — with Aaron Rodgers injured.
