2018 NFL Power Rankings: Packers, Patriots fall as Rams, Chiefs show dominance

12. Cincinnati Bengals (10)
There’s good Andy Dalton. And then there’s bad Andy Dalton. Last week, we saw good Andy Dalton as he was throwing touchdown passes to A.J. Green like they were nothing. His great play was a huge reason the Cincinnati Bengals were able to start the season with a 2-0 mark. In Week 3, we saw bad Andy Dalton come back out to play.
Dalton wasn’t efficient at all despite having 352 yards against the Carolina Panthers. Dalton had four interceptions in the road loss and that was a big reason they lost their first game of the season. They did, however, have a couple good things go their way. They saw Tyler Eifert play a throwback game as the big tight end caught six passes for 74 yards.
Tyler Boyd also played well with 132 yards and a touchdown on six grabs. They needed the help from them as A.J. Green was dealing with some injury issues throughout the game. They have to hope this isn’t going to be a long-term problem as they’re already without running back Joe Mixon — who had to have a knee scope.
The AFC North is suddenly a tight race early on and the Bengals have to feel good about their chances, even after this rough road game. Still, to maintain a hold on the division, they’ll need to bounce back off of this defeat.
