2018 NFL Power Rankings: Packers, Patriots fall as Rams, Chiefs show dominance

29. New York Giants (30)
This season hasn’t started out the way the New York Giants wanted it to, but they made some big strides on Sunday. Offensively, Saquon Barkley bounced back from a rough outing against Dallas and put up 82 yards and a touchdown on just 17 carries. He also had 35 more yards n five touchdowns.
Odell Beckham, Jr. had a slow game against the Cowboys, but put that out of his mind as he had 109 yards on nine receptions. Eli Manning was also strong with 25-of-29 passing for 297 yards with two touchdowns and no turnovers.
Most importantly, they got their first win in the Pat Shurmur era. After their mess of a season in 2017 with Ben McAdoo as the coach, this team needed a better start than their 0-2 opening. Still, getting a road win is a positive and they’re not out of it in the NFC East.
We know this team can get hot on offense with all their weapons, but their defense could be a question. What was once the strength of their team, this side of the ball is in transition to a new 3-4 scheme. It may take some more time to get that figured out.
