26. New York Jets (25)

A 14-0 start was erased thanks to Baker-Mania. The New York Jets were rolling early on Thursday Night Football against the Browns. Sam Darnold was looking for win No. 2 and he was trying to prove he should have been the No. 1 pick, not Baker Mayfield who was relegated to the bench in Cleveland. Former Brown Isaiah Crowell was also out to prove the team made a mistake in letting him go this offseason and had two scores in the second quarter.

Then Tyrod Taylor was hurt and Mayfield entered the game. He led them to three before the half and from there on, it was all Cleveland. Darnold struggled to keep up with the pace the Browns were now playing with — and the running game slowed down as well.

What was most concerning was the two interceptions thrown by Darnold after the Jets lost the lead. This was a huge issue for him at USC, and something he needs to get under control.

After an explosive Monday Night Football win to the season, the Jets have come back down to earth and are 1-2. There’s plenty to like, but it’s not their time to compete in the AFC East just yet. It’s also not time to give up on Darnold even though some have started to whisper about his performance.
