A pair of playmaking safeties

Bradley McDougald forced Ezekiel Elliott to fumble in the fourth quarter, setting the Cowboys back again at a key point in the game. It’s safe to say expectations were low for the sixth year pro, especially because he is replacing the beloved Kam Chancellor.

While McDougald isn’t on the same level as Chancellor, he’s been playing well since the start of the year. His chase down strip of Elliott just proves how hard he’s working and fighting for the team. It was a pure hustle play that paid off big time.

Earl Thomas is the same as he’s always been. He picked off Prescott in the first half, pinning the ball to the lower part of his leg and barely keeping it off the ground before returning it for a few yards. Thomas sealed the game with his second interception of the contest, in the second half when the Cowboys were desperately trying to come back. Thomas also tied for the team lead in combined tackles with seven.

Who knows what Thomas’ plans are for after the season when he’s a free agent, but for now the Seahawks should just be grateful to have an X-factor like him on their team. Thomas held out until almost the last minute before the start of the regular season and there have been trade rumors swirling around him for a while now.

He’s the last member of the Legion of Boom left in the Seattle secondary. In the first three weeks of the 2018 season, he has three interceptions reasserting his status as an All-Pro and one of the best safeties in the last decade.
