Wide Receivers

Calvin Ridley, Atlanta Falcons

2018 stats: 11 receptions, 210 yards, 4 touchdowns
ESPN ownership: 40.8 percent

The Atlanta Falcons are starting to pick their pace up, which is good news for fantasy football players who have stock in guys like Julio Jones and Matt Ryan. While Jones will always be in line to get his fair share, the remaining targets need to go somewhere don’t they? Insert Calvin Ridley. Ridley, the team’s first round pick, has been slowly working his way onto the forefront of Ryan’s mind, and might have just secured WR2 status in Atlanta after a seven-catch, 146-yard and three-touchdown performance against the Saints.

Of course, it’s not expected for Ridley to explode like this on a consistent basis, yet the talent and targets are there for Ridley to continue to establish himself in an offense that is turning the corner and looks to be returning to form. The immediate impact might not be a replication of his performance last Sunday, but Ridley might just turn into one of the best waiver-wire additions of the year if all goes to plan.

Tyler Boyd, Cincinnati Bengals

2018 stats: 15 receptions, 249 yards, 2 touchdowns
ESPN ownership: 23.7 percent

Tyler Boyd is what many in the fantasy realm expected John Ross to be, the Bengals sleeper wide receiver behind A.J. Green. Boyd is second on the team behind Green in targets, receptions and touchdowns, while leading the team in reception yards and catches of 20+ yards according to ESPN.

In the last two weeks alone, Boyd is averaging six receptions for 111.5 yards and one touchdown. If Boyd can manage to stay close to those numbers, you can bet on him as a mainstay in your flex spot for the majority of the season. This week, the Bengals visit a Falcons secondary that was just gashed for nearly 400 yards, a welcome sign for Bengals receivers to eat in Week 4.
