The Week 4 edition of our NFL Power Rankings for quarterbacks sees some new names at the top as youth is starting to take over the most important position.

Our weekly 2018 NFL Power Rankings for quarterbacks comes at you again as we prepare to enter Week 4. It feels like we wait forever for the offseason to end for real football to get here and we’re already approaching the quarter-mark following these next games.

But what a great start it’s been. We’re finally starting to see the proverbial passing of the torch ‚— both literally and figuratively. Four teams entered this offseason expecting to rely heavily on ‘bridge-quarterbacks.’ These teams all thought rookies needed time to develop, which really isn’t the way it works anymore.

Look no further to Week 4 as proof. With Baker Mayfield being named the starter in Cleveland and Josh Rosen with the Cardinals, the top four quarterbacks picked will all be starting now, even though most of the franchises were against the idea completely.

Rosen and Mayfield join Sam Darnold, a starter since Week 1 with the New York Jets, and Josh Allen, a starter since Week 2 with the Buffalo Bills, as players to send their more experienced counterparts to the bench.

While that’s going on, one guy who did sit his entire rookie season is out there tearing up the league. Patrick Mahomes sat all year and watched Alex Smith — and if anyone thinks that helped Mahomes, they haven’t watched the two play. The two couldn’t more night and day, and the only reason Mahomes is tearing up the league is that he’s a sensational talent. So good, he broke Peyton Manning’s record for most touchdowns in the first three games of a season.

Of course, that story, and more shake up this week’s edition of the 2018 NFL Power Rankings of every starting quarterback.
