Earl Thomas

Earl Thomas may be looking at a couple fines for not showing up to the team facility twice last week for practice, but he played out of his mind on Sunday against the Cowboys. Clearly the missed practices didn’t affect his play. Thomas led his team in interceptions and tied for the lead in combined tackles and passes defensed. If there was a play that needed to be made, the All-Pro safety was there to make it happen.

It was a hectic offseason for Thomas and the Seahawks and they still don’t seem to be on the same page, except when it comes to Sundays. In three weeks, he has three interceptions. His personal best is five in a season, but he clearly has a good chance to reset that mark, at the spry age of 29, no less.

Thomas has been one of the best safeties in the NFL for the last six seasons or so. He’s been to six Pro Bowls and has been named a First Team All-Pro three times. In 2017,  he was a Second Team All-Pro, the second time he received the honor in his career. Historically, aging safeties have been undervalued, but this offseason, some team will recognize that Thomas’ Hall of Fame talent hasn’t faded just yet.

Seahawks fans, enjoy it while you can. You’re truly witnessing greatness.
