New York Jets: 3 Bold predictions for Week 4 vs. Jaguars
The New York Jets are heading to Florida for the first time this season to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, and it’s a team they’ve done well against before.
The New York Jets must wash the sour taste out of their mouths after that loss to the Cleveland Browns. Amazingly enough, they have had extra time to prepare for one of the best teams on their schedule, the Jacksonville Jaguars.
In an odd scheduling quick, the Jets began the season with three games in 11 days, but it’s surely made up by having the mini-bye before this game and the bye before the game against New England. So it has a way of balancing out.
The all-time series with the Jaguars is kind of strange, because this will be the fifth time in their history they will play each other in back-to-back seasons. They’ve each one two times in the second matchup. However, the Jets have won the last four meeting with the Jaguars, including last season.
The Jaguars may be the best team the Jets face this year. So, it’s going to be a tough matchup for the Jets. Let’s make some bold predictions about this game regarding the Jets performance.
3. Sam Darnold bounces back
This prediction has as much to do with perception as it does what the Jets are facing. The Jaguars have one of the best defenses in the league. That said, it’s merely from a personnel standpoint and not from a schematic one. The most difficult defense schematically is probably Cleveland.
It’s not an easy one to decipher, but much easier than the one the Browns sent at him on Thursday. The Jets do have a mini-bye to prepare for the Jaguars. So the extra time will help Sam Darnold prepare for the Jaguars tough defense, and the extra time will aid him in bouncing back.
