3. Kirk Cousins tosses four TDs

Apart from last week’s meltdown against the Bills, Kirk Cousins has been sensational this season. He shredded the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1, and then deconstructed the Green Bay Packers defense a week later. Can he get back on track against the Rams in Week 4?

My guess is that’ll be exactly the case. Why? Well for starters, the Los Angeles defense will likely be missing two of its best players.

Last weekend, the Rams watched Aqib Talib go down with an ankle injury that required surgery. He’s out for at least a few weeks. Marcus Peters was also bitten by the injury bug, although his strained calf isn’t as severe. Even then, he’s considered day-to-day and may not be ready to go on a short week.

What does that mean for the Vikings? It means their top-tier wide receiver duo of Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs is going up against the Rams’ second-string cornerbacks. That doesn’t seem to bode well for the Los Angeles defense and its ability to slow the trio of Cousins, Thielen and Diggs.

In fact, that’s why I’m predicting Cousins will toss four touchdowns tonight. With Thielen and Diggs facing inferior competition, the Rams will have to make adjustments in coverage. If the safeties help too much, then it opens Kyle Rudolph down the middle. Either way, it’s going to be a big night for the Minnesota passing game.
