Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz has returned to action from injury. The return of the Eagles leader has put Philadelphia fans minds at ease.

Last Sunday in Week 3 at Lincoln Financial Field, a familiar face was under center for the Philadelphia Eagles. No, it wasn’t Super Bowl MVP Nick Foles. Instead it was team captain and franchise-changer Carson Wentz.

Wentz last saw the NFL gridiron on Dec. 10, 2017 in a Week 14 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Wentz tore his ACL in that game and was forced to watch the Eagles win their first Super Bowl from the sidelines.

This season didn’t exactly have the start to it that Eagles fans were expecting. After a less than impressive win against the Falcons, the Eagles laid an egg against the Buccaneers in Week 2. Foles didn’t play poorly, but he didn’t play great either.

There was an uneasy feeling throughout the city that, if Wentz didn’t come back from injury soon, the season would slip away from the Eagles. And while the entire city of Philadelphia will be indebted to Foles for the rest of eternity, it was clear that it was time for a change. The Eagles and the city needed their leader back.

Insert Wentz in Week 3 against the Indianapolis Colts. In his first drive since returning from injury Wentz led the Eagles on a 12 play 79 yard touchdown drive. After that score, The Linc was as electric as it was on opening night when the championship banner was unveiled.

From that point on, everything seemed at ease in the Philadelphia fan base. Even though the rest of Wentz’s performance wasn’t one to put in the record books — an interception and lost fumble almost cost the Eagles the game — that’s not what will be remembered. What will be remembered is that feeling of stress when he made his first play with his legs. Followed by the feeling of relief when we realized his leg injury won’t hold him back at all.

Going into Week 4 against the Titans, things are looking good for the Eagles. They are a favorite on the road in Tennessee and it is fully expected that they will return home with a 3-1 record. With Carson Wentz leading the way things are looking sunny in Philadelphia.
