Bills vs. Packers: Can Buffalo pull off another major upset?
The Buffalo Bills manhandled the Minnesota Vikings on the road last week. Can they have a repeat performance against an angry Green Bay Packers’ squad?
Just one week ago at this time, many around the NFL had the Buffalo Bills pegged as contenders for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. In Week 1, the Bills lost 47-3 to a Baltimore team not exactly known for explosive offense and followed that up with another double-digit loss against the Los Angeles Chargers.
So, naturally, most survivor pools around the country had the Minnesota Vikings had last week. A Super Bowl contender at home against the punchless Bills starting a rookie quarterback? What’s not to like?
Well, Buffalo showed exactly why the NFL is unpredictable, dominating the Vikings on both sides of the ball in a 27-6 win. Josh Allen was terrific, passing for one touchdown and rushing for two more, while also taking care of the football. And he did it without running back LeSean McCoy. Defensively, the Bills held Minnesota to just 14 yards rushing.
The Green Bay Packers started off the season 1-0 after an impressive come-from-behind win over rival Chicago, thanks to another epic Aaron Rodgers’ comeback. In Week 2, the Packers blew a second-half lead against Minnesota and that game ended in a tie. Last week, the Packers were taken to the woodshed by the Redskins in a 31-17 loss. Now, 1-1-1, the Packers desperately need a win and there are many questions surrounding the health of Rodgers.

Despite such a dominating win in Week 3, the Bills didn’t exactly light it up offensively. Allen was efficient passing the football, completing 15 of 22 passes for 196. He also rushed for 39 yards and two scores. He was good. However, as a whole, Buffalo had just 292 total yards and averaged only 3.4 yards per rushing attempt. McCoy says he expects to play this week.

Prediction
The Bills were the story of Week 3 in the NFL. Can do they it again? Don’t count on it. The Packers need a win in the worst way and Rodgers will be fired up in front of the home crowd. Expect Rodgers and Davante Adams to connect on some big plays down the field, while Green Bay’s running game also gets in on the fun. Aaron Jones will continue to see more carries for the Packers and Clay Matthews will not be penalized for roughing the passer this week.
Packers win in a rout.
Final Score: Green Bay 34, Buffalo 13
