1. Ezekiel Elliott will get a touchdown reception and run

Yes, in the first prediction it was said the Cowboys would abandon the running game more than they should as Scott Linehan tries to continue to prove he is creative, get Allen Hurns his targets, and convince people they can pass for plenty of yards.

However, there’s one other bit of noise that Linehan will be completely unable to let soak into his sponge of a mind — Jerry Jones said they could be like the Rams. Well, the Rams have Todd Gurley on offense, so let’s start using Elliott as Gurley will be on Linehan’s mind.

While this is a good thing, it’s kind of sad if this is what it takes to get Dallas using Zeke like Gurley. While Gurley has been at a different level than Elliott in the passing, Zeke does offer a lot of what Gurley can do. The issue is, this staff uses No. 21 as a last resort in the passing game rather than an actual option.

While he showed poor awareness on Sunday in going out of bounds, Elliott nearly got Dallas back in the game with a sensational catch and run for a touchdown. He knows he screwed up and said as much, but the fact is he showed that if you put the ball in his hands, good things will happen. For a team void of playmakers, you think they would be doing all they could to involve him.

On Sunday, look for them to finally try and pass the ball Elliott’s way. It allows them to get more passing yards while also showing they can be like the Rams — well, at least they have a running back that can be explosive. Let’s not get crazy and compare the rest of the offense.

Elliott will run in a goal-line touchdown while also breaking off a big gain from a pass off the hands of Prescott in this one. Then Linehan can sit back and see what the outside voices tell him he needs to do next week.
