Jets vs. Jaguars: Winning streak on the line for Gang Green
The New York Jets are playing the Jaguars for the second-straight year for the fifth time in the all-time series this year.
It’s rare for the New York Jets to have a winning streak against anyone. However, they enter the Week 4 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars having an all-time record of 7-6 (1-0 in the playoffs) against them and having won the last four meetings. Their last loss to Jacksonville was Nov. 15, 2009, the last season at Giants Stadium.
Gang Green is coming off two brutal losses that could’ve easily been wins, but they shot themselves in the foot in both games. Jacksonville, on the other hand, is coming off a loss in which their opponents’ starting quarterback was injured and they lost 9-6.
The Jets defense has played well in the last two games, and the Jaguars defense is what we all expected. That said, the defense for New York should be giving fans hope that if they can turn things around on offense, they can beat anyone, even a team with the talent of Jacksonville.

Prediction
Last week the Jets had trouble with the Browns pass rush. So the inclination is that Jacksonville’s will be just as tough with the talent they have up front, but the Cleveland pass rush isn’t all talent. It was the scheme that confused the young rookie, and it was a short week to boot.
This week the talent is there, but the scheme isn’t as complicated, and they have extra time to prepare. On paper, it does look like a mismatch, but for the Jets it’s just cleaning up the mistakes, and they’ll be able to compete in this game. Also, they can take advantage of the Jacksonville run defense if they want to win.
On the Jacksonville side, it’s all about getting to Sam Darnold. If the offensive line can’t hold up against the Jacksonville pass rush, it’s going to be another long day for the youngster. Converting on the short fields are going to be a must, because the New York defense will be looking to get pressure on Blake Bortles.
Final Score: New York 23, Jacksonville 27
