13. Seattle Seahawks: David Edwards, OT, Wisconsin

Year after year, many of us predict the Seattle Seahawks will draft an offensive lineman early. And then year after year, they don’t. No one knows what it is about them that makes them believe they can keep plugging the holes with band-aids, but there’s a serious issue with their line.

Yes, they have Duane Brown at left tackle and he’s a solid player. However, he’s nearing the end of his career and really he’s the only guy on the team who is keeping quarterback Russell Wilson from being completely destroyed.

Here we try once again to fix some of the problems by selecting Wisconsin’s David Edwards. The Badgers will be sending a slew of offensive linemen into the NFL this season, and overall they’ve become one of the best schools for turning out professional blockers.

What makes Edwards perfect for Seattle is he has played the right side for Wisconsin, which is where they would use him with Brown still occupying the left. Eventually Brown will need to be replaced and Edwards has the size and foot speed for that job, but if they don’t feel comfortable with him there they at least know they have the right side locked down for years and can look for Brown’s replacement later.
