14. Pittsburgh Steelers: Devin White, LB, LSU

Next up is the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are picking incredibly early for them. It hasn’t been an ideal start for them in 2018, which began with a tie game against the Browns in an ugly weather game. They look like they may be able to right the ship some, but the drama around them is louder than normal — and there seems to always be a good bit of drama.

Looking at them on the field though, we see a team that’s struggling to stop opposing offenses. According to NFL.com, the Steelers enter Week 4 ranked at No. 28 in points surrendered and 29 in total yards. They’re in the lower tier in both pass and rushing yards, so they can go a number of ways here — but the defense should be the primary focus.

Their choice in this mock is Devin White out of LSU. White is able to fly all over the field and is becoming a better-rounded player the more experience he gets with the Tigers. In 2017, he was credited with 133 total tackles and is looking to be on a similar pace this season. He won’t fix all the problems this defense has, but he could help the Steelers start looking more like the Steelers again.
