19. Denver Broncos: Christian Wilkins, DT, Clemson

In 2018, the Denver Broncos made some great moves in the draft. First, they added edge rusher Bradley Chubb at No. 5 and then they landed Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton at receiver and Royce Freeman at running back. They also seem to have hit a home run with undrafted rookie Phillip Lindsay at running back.

This added plenty of depth on an already strong defense and replaced C.J. Anderson, who left for Carolina in the offseason. Again, their drafting just seemed solid at most positions.

Most being the key word, because this team cannot hit on quarterbacks. First, it was Brock Osweiler in the second round and after him, it was Paxton Lynch in the first. Neither lived up to expectations, so they signed Case Keenum this offseason. To date, Keenum has been up and down, but they don’t expect him to lead the team. Instead, he just needs to be a game manager as the defense wins games.

To aid in that effort, the Broncos get the third member of the Clemson Tigers defensive line to get drafted in Christian Wilkins. The 315-pound defensive tackle would have been a first-round pick a season ago but decided to come back for his senior season. It may not do much for his stock because he now joins an elite class of defensive linemen, but he still lands in the first and with a good team.
