24. Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Grier, QB, West Virginia

Somehow this team got to the AFC Championship Game in 2017. And in that game, they nearly upended the New England Patriots. Yes, the Jacksonville Jaguars shocked the world by making their run last season, especially considering the lack of faith they had in their own quarterback.

Blake Bortles was held back by his team all season as they were limiting him to being a game manager. It was working, but when they had to unleash him in the AFC title game, he held his own and nearly scored the upset.

That led to a new deal for him and hope this season would be different. So far, it’s been more of the same. Bortles will have one game where he looks like the franchise leader under center, followed by a poor showing like in Week 3 when they mustered six points in a loss.

As good as this defense is, it’s a shame to watch such inconsistent offensive play. Here, the Jags decide it’s time to move on from Bortles and they land Will Grier out of West Virginia.

A redshirt senior, Grier will be 24 as a rookie, which makes him older than most. Even so, he’s got the height, arm strength, and smarts to make it at the next level and could propel the Jaguars forward as a team.
