27. Miami Dolphins: Mack Wilson, LB, Alabama

The Miami Dolphins have been quite a surprise this season as they’re the early leaders in the AFC East. We have a long season ahead of us still and they have a lot of room to go before proving they can win that division, but their start is still impressive.

On offense, they’ve seen some improvement out of Ryan Tannehill and the group of receivers is led by Kenny Stills who is off to another strong start this season. Their defense, that’s another story.

This side of the ball seems to have more questions than answers. Outside of Robert Quinn (thanks to the William Hayes injury), there’s not a lot left to be excited about. The linebackers have been especially problematic for them, so they look to the Alabama Crimson Tide for some help.

The selection is Mack Wilson, the middle linebacker in the Tide’s 3-4 defense. His tackle totals won’t blow you away, but this is a pick looking at potential and Mack has that. He’s shown great instincts in the passing game with five career picks and can be a game changer should he reach his potential.

It’s the second season in a row they spend a day one pick on a ‘Bama player as Minkah Fitzpatrick joined the team in 2018. Maybe he and Wilson can lead them to better days going forward.
