4. New York Giants: Drew Lock, QB, Missouri

This past draft, there were many who wanted the New York Giants to go ahead and get their next face of the franchise. With Sam Darnold on the board, they elected instead to grab running back Saquon Barkley out of Penn State.

Their belief was simple. They felt with Barkley in the backfield and Odell Beckham, Jr. returning from injury, their offense would be hard to stop. They also believed that the running game would take pressure off Eli Manning — who hasn’t been great the past couple of seasons.

So far, that hasn’t worked. The Giants only win through three weeks has come at the expense of the Texans, and as you saw, they’re currently choosing No. 2 in this mock. It’s not often you get a redo in life, but the Giants are getting one here as they once again get the chance to get an elite prospect at quarterback. And thanks to the needs of the teams ahead of them, they get the top one in this class.

There’s surely been some debate about who that is, but Drew Lock seems to fit the bill. He has the size, composure, arm strength, and accuracy to be a stud in the NFL. He’s got all the tools to be great and should thrive with the pieces around him in this New York offense.
