8. San Francisco 49ers: A.J. Brown, WR, Ole Miss

By the time this season is over, it may not be a shock to see the San Francisco 49ers go even higher in the first round. That’s because their season took a turn for the worst when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL late in their Week 3 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With their franchise quarterback out of commission, the Niners will be turning to C.J. Beathard. The former third-round pick started five games in 2017 and the team was just 1-4 with him under center. He completed only 54.9 percent of his passes and had six interceptions with only four touchdowns.

Needless to say, they will miss Garoppolo. They also need to try and help him out when he does return. Currently, there isn’t a legitimate No. 1 receiver on the team and that’s a problem they need to fix soon.

They attempt to do just that as another Ole Miss wideout comes off the board in the top-10. This time, it’s A.J. Brown, who was considered the top receiver by many until he started to be shown up by his teammate, D.K. Metcalf. For San Francisco, this is no consolation prize as they still get an elite talent who can play everywhere — outside, or in the slot. He’ll quickly become Garoppolo’s favorite target.
